Ironically, I used to hate WordPress with a passion! Back when I had to manually install its’ software on a GoDaddy website I owned at the time…it was a total nightmare to say the least…and to this day I still hate GoDaddy with a passion!
SIDE NOTE: Check out this blog I wrote about GoDaddy and Bluehost that tells you why you should NEVER give these companies any of your valuable money or time: https://ascensionexpress.com/godaddysucks/
Fast forward, after not being fully satisfied with Wix, I decided to give wordpress.com a shot (once I realized it had finally offered customer support to go along with their paid W.Y.S.I.W.Y.G. domain and hosting plans).
I simply couldn’t be bothered to continue trying to learn website coding language. I found it to be extremely tedious, frustrating, and time consuming. Also, I did not want to be limited in terms of customization when it came to the design and functionality aspects of my website.
Sites like GoDaddy, Bluehost, Wix, and even SquareSpace all have their limitations that you will quickly discover when trying to build the website yourself. You are often forced to pay for expensive monthly or yearly add-ons in order to load the additional features to your site.
What I found remarkable about wordpress.com right off the bat was not only the powerful built-in tools you can use to customize your blog posts, but also its’ super friendly and helpful customer service (that deserves the modern internet golden medal award IMHO).
With my wordpress.com Business plan I am able to receive live chat support with WP happiness customer service engineers 24/7 (so long as there isn’t a site outage or something else going on with wordpress.com).
I invite you to now browse the different plans that WP offers and compare the differences in offered features, side by side:
Sure, you will definitely find other domain and/or hosting companies that offer a similar service at a much lower price, but I assure you that you will not get the top quality and reliability that WP offers. Every penny spent is justified by the completely amazing value that you are getting without having to spend thousands of dollars having a website developer build and design a website for you from scratch.
Furthermore, you can maintain the website yourself quite easily by just logging into your account. This certainly beats the hell out of hoping that your website developer doesn’t just suddenly ghost you, or at the very least delays fixing your site with the updates that are necessary for perfect site working order. As the old saying goes “If you want something done right, do it yourself!”.
Finally I would like to mention that if you want to customize your website that goes beyond your WP theme’s capabilities, you can always contact a WP happiness engineer and they will gladly provide you with the exact custom CSS code and instructions to accomplish your website expansion goals! To me this is a humungous perk because many other similar providers do not offer support in respect to helping you with CSS code customization 😀
